It is with great excitement and pride that the Valley Forge Minutemen announce that Vinny Borgesi of our 2004 team has committed to play his college hockey at Northeastern University. Vinny has been a member of the 2004 team for the past 2 years and has helped solidify one of the top D cores in the country. Vinny currently leads all AYHL defensemen (third amongst all players) in points, while also playing solid defense. This commitment is truly an honor for Vinny, his family and the Minutemen family.
“Vinny is a special hockey player. His intensity level and love for the game is contagious. He instantly sets the tempo every time he steps onto the ice for practice and games. The best part of his game is that he competes on a consistent basis and has fun doing it. The Minutemen Coaching Staff is looking forward to watching Vinny continue to develop as a respectful young man on and off the ice.” Coach Ryan Tyson
Coach Sutow added, “Vin’s hockey IQ is off the charts. His work ethic is incredible everyday.”
In a statement from the Borgesi family they noted, “Vinny started his hockey journey at a very young age. When the family knew it was time to take his game to the next level, they ventured up I-76 to Center Ice & the VFMM program. With the help & tutelage of his Coaches (Jim Sutow, John Geverd, Ryan Tyson) he polished up his skills and his overall game. When the Bantam Major season began the VFMM were invited to an Elite hockey tournament in Canton Mass. where there were many eyes on the teams & players. That is where #53 of the VFMM caught the eye of some of the top Division 1 Boston hockey programs. After months of deliberations, visits, & research Vinny Borgesi knew that Northeastern University was the best place for him to continue his education along with his hockey journey.”
Vinny announced the great news to his teammates last night and the first thing he did was thank them all for how they push one another everyday to be the best!

GO HUSKIES !!!!!!!!
